A partial is a complement of teeth, used to replace natural teeth and adjacent tissue. This replacement helps improve appearance and smile. The partial supports facial muscles that would otherwise sag, making a person look older. They may also help one to eat or speak more comfortably than would be the case with the absense of teeth.
